No, they are not going to stop making the drugs that you take, but some drug makers say they are going to stop giving doctors offices promotional swag like branded pens, bandages, tongue depressors, tissue boxes and mugs.
In a New york Times article, The industry says they have voluntarily said “No more goodies for doctors’”. That means you will no longer be seeing these items in the waiting room of your doctors offices. But according to the article, the companies will continue to provide things like free dinners for doctors and the $16 billion spent annually to hand out free drug samples.
