I read today something about relationships and what true love is. It said that when you get into a relationship their is a grocery list of reasons why; he has a cool or great job, a wonderful smile, you melt when he looks in your eyes, you always feel happy, all those types of things. When you know it is true love is when you cannot remember those things, you just know that you need that person and that they are there.

I know that things are going to work out for Michael and I, despite the move we are going to make this weekend and everything we have been through.

So, I was not going to write anything here today, but I am bored and my boyfriend told me to write something. Saying it does not have to be about anything or can be about whatever. well, here it goes then.

Have you ever been at one of those points in your life when you are not really sure what you are not only going to do tomorrow, but in the next 5 minutes as well? That is how I have felt the last couple days. Not sure what I am going to do for a job after 5 months of not having one. Going to be moving to my boyfriends parents house in a small resort town. It seems that our relationship always needs some sort of work (that is mostly me over thinking things). I have no relationship with my daughter, in fact, I am not sure about anything with her anymore and her Mom does not help the situation any.

With all that said, I still seem to feel good. The over thinking everything gets upsetting sometimes, but for the most part I am good.

I really am not really going anywhere with this. I am trying to take my mind of the fact that I need to pack and that I am moving in with my boyfriends parents because I cannot find a job.

Anyway, next time I post it will be from another town, one a lot smaller and hopefully I will have a job then as well.

So, after 5 months of looking for a job in Albuquerque, I guess I am giving up. I think I have given it plenty of time. We are hoping to save some money and then be able to move to either, Dallas, Houston or Denver and have a job waithing there.

I will continue to post here on this blog. Hoping that it will eventually be something that is helpful. Either helping people find work or maybe just helping people forget for awhile and enjoy life. I am hoping for both.

For some reason, the more time I have, the less motivated to do things I am. I still go out everyday and look for work, but the things like housework, continued learning, and staying organized seems hard. now that I have lots of time, I seem to do less. When I worked full time, I used to get lots done. I would clean, read, go out and do things.

so how does one change this? I am not sure yet, but I am trying.

Sleep. I try to get enough. But one thing I am finding that helps, is waking up the same time everyday and going to bed when I am tired. It may seem simple, but sometimes getting out of bed when you go to sleep late is hard. I have to just make myself get up, even if I have no plans.

Get out. Even if it is just to go to the park. Getting out of the house seems to help. I have been trying to take the dog for a walk at least once a day. That consists of walking around the park about 3 times or about a mile. It always seems to make me feel a little better.

Reading. This is hard. I like to read, it just seems that picking up a book or finding an article that holds my attention right now doesn’t happen. I have to force myself sometimes to finish even the smallest articles.

Communicating. This is where I have the most problems. Just talking to people. It seems so much easier to keep everything inside. But those thoughts and ideas do nothing for me if they just fester in my head.

Lastly, try to laugh and smile. It always makes me feel better and those around me seem to be happier as well.

There are many things I could talk about right now. One would be the relationship I am in. Another could be how I got where I am today (but that is too long). So I will start with my continued search for a career job.

At this point, I am thinking that going back to school is a great option. My skills are all in TV news producing. Besides being a producer, my skills, according to prospective employers, are limited. It’s been almost four months since I worked a regular 40+ hour a week career job. Everyday I wake up thinking this is the day that I will get the call. Well, as you can see it hasn’t happened.

During this time that I have been working odd part time or freelance jobs, I have been catching up and learning more about Marketing/PR and trying to learn about web development. I am hoping that will help me in the long run.

As far as everything else, not being in TV news has made me a lot less stressed. I do not freak out about half the things I used to. I also think that I am a lot calmer. Oh yeah, and that nightly drinking, it has stopped. So there are some good things about the job search.

I am still hoping to get some sort of job with Reelz Channel. I have not heard back from them since the short list interview. Not sure when they are planning on getting back to people, because I am not sure they really knew. But I do know that they are not starting opperations here until May sometime, so I guess there is still time.

There are many ways to get you business noticed. Many of them are either free or at a very low cost. The most important thing is that they create a virus. Where you get people talking about your business. even if those people do not become clients, some of the people they talk to may become clients. None of these are new. They have been done before, but you can do them and put your own spin on them. So here is a list of eight that are cheap and most of all, ways you can have fun and make others around you happy as well.

1. Like this is right here, make a list. People love lists. Only your list will be things you can do for people. Make them creative, but be honest. People love to laugh, so make your list fun.

2. Host a blood drive, or an event (like a run/walk) with a non-profit organization. Most local hospitals will set up everything you need for a blood drive. you just provide the people and then you can put up a couple banners with your info on it and then of coarse leave your business card where people register. You can also call TV stations and newspapers and they will most likely run/print the information for you. Also, if you do an event, make sure that you are there for the entire thing, you would hate to miss someone wanting to talk about business but is the type of person that is do it now or not at all.

3. Magazines or books at stores or in waiting rooms . While you are waiting to be seen by a doctor or at any other office that makes you wait, as you sift through the magazines, drop a business card in them. Who know who will pick it up next? If not a new client, maybe that person knows someone that needs your service. At a store you can pick what books you put your card in, like ones that somehow relate to what you do,.

4. Random act of kindness. If you are at a movie, amusement park, expo, or any other place that there is usually one price for admission, pay for the person behind you. Just request that the person selling the ticket also give the person behind you your business card.
Again, even if they do not need your service, they will tell their friends about it, who in turn, will probably tell there friends about it.

5. Be an expert… or at least promote yourself as one. An ad agency I once worked for
would pitch the owner to TV stations every year right before the Super Bowl, claiming that he was the authority on commercials. That he would sit down with a reporter/producer and rate/explain what advertisers were trying to do with their multi-million dollar ads. Guess what? There was always at least on print and one TV station that would use him. People read or watched and to them, he became an authority on advertising. You too can generate press
coverage. Just sent reporters/producer a letter or give them a call and introduce yourself, tell them what you do and then tell them you are always available for comment.

6. Magnets/bumper stickers. I prefer magnets on this one, because I am no a big fan
of having things stuck to my car, but the downfall is that they do cost a little more. Things on peoples cars, especially bumpers are seen by lots of people everyday, no matter where you are. This is another item you want to be sure and be creative. Being funny helps a lot to, because then people stuck in traffic or having a bad day that pull up behind might enjoy it. Then they will tell there friends about it. Like good TV commercials, make it memorable, but make sure people also remember your name.

7. Start a blog/e-article. Start a blog so you can write about your services. Even tell stories that have to do with your business. Again be create. Then when you feel comfortable, start writing for online newspapers or websites that host article. You can throw your business name in. Remember, write use full stuff, but enjoyable.

8. Hair salon. These people are big talkers. This is another place you can slip your business card into magazines. But if you really want to get people talking, stop in and get your haircut and offer a great story or two to the people around you and whoever is cutting your hair. You can also offer free products or coupons to the salon.

Yes, all these things have been done before and there are lots more that or about there
that are great and will get you noticed. It is your job to think of how to make them unique and original for your business. Attract attention, have fun, but the main thing is to let people do the talking for you. You want to leave them with something to talk about. If they need your service or not, make them talk about you and remember you, because chances are, the know someone that does need your service.
